Never Done Normal
Life is hard. Business is harder.
Started 4 companies. The first almost killed me. People actually died. But that's another story. The second was meh, but I was grown up enough to know it wasn't going to work, so I killed it before it caused pain. The third was going gangbusters. I was sure there'd be a Lambo in the drive. Then 2008 happened. No Lambo. No house.
The fourth started as a "fuck it, why not." Ended up a global publicly listed company.
Still going. Still learning. Still fucking excited.
How I Show Up
I bring people on the journey. It's not about me having the answers. It's about asking the right questions until you find yours.
Sometimes you just need someone who'll listen without judgement. A sounding board. A place to think out loud.
Stuff breaks. Business breaks. People break. That's not failure. That's life. Build strong foundations, support, and restore.
I ask the uncomfortable ones. The obvious ones everyone's afraid to say. Sometimes that's all it takes to get unstuck.
What I Actually Do
In the last 4 years: 2 businesses restructured back to profitability. 1 restructure and exit for founders. Multiple tech turnarounds. Now building with AI because I can't stop.
The one who asks "why" until we get real answers. Not the PowerPoint version.
When everything's growing but breaking. Or just breaking. I find what's actually wrong and help fix it.
Real stories from the trenches. No slides. No frameworks. Just what actually happened.
Helping startups avoid the expensive mistakes I made. Technical assessment, strategic guidance.
Building a business is hard. Life is hard. If you're stuck and just need someone who's been through it, ping me. No agenda.
The Reality
I'm not the polished suit. In fact, I don't even own a suit.
I'm the one asking "why the hell are we still doing it this way?"
Shut down a company that was breaking me. Moved to Australia during the GFC. Didn't have a pot to piss in. Built xref from nothing to a global public listing. Every restart made me sharper.
Now I'm building with AI because I genuinely can't stop. DeLorean in the garage. Wife, grown-up kids, and a toddler at home. Because restarts take many forms.
The world has enough consultants who'll tell you what you want to hear. It needs more people willing to look like a muppet asking the obvious questions.
No pitch. No agenda. Just a conversation about what's actually going on.
